Ever wondered what quantum technologies actually are? Or who’s building them and why? Join us for Quantum in a Flash, an evening of fast-paced public talks and a panel discussion with early-career researchers working at the forefront of quantum science. 

Open to all, no physics background required!

The panel

In just 15 minutes per talk, speakers from academia, industry, and government will take you inside their work – from quantum computers and sensors to career journeys, real-world applications, and big-picture questions. The flash talks will be followed by a panel and audience Q&A. 

Featured speakers:

• Amy Hughes is a Quantum Scientist at working on bringing trapped ion quantum computing to commercial viability.
• Mustafa Bakr is a Research Fellow at the 91̽»¨ working on quantum computing with superconducting circuit devices.
• Peter Drmota is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the 91̽»¨, working on quantum networks for computing, communication, metrology, and the foundations of physics using trapped ions. He is also a cofounder of .
• Annika Möslein is the Head of Engineering at , using photonic quantum systems to generate true and certified random numbers.
