Research

I am currently doing my DPhil under Prof Henry Snaith, focusing on spectroscopic characterisation of perovskite solar cells. I am interested in finding new and interesting ways of probing the fundamental mechanics within perovskite cells, with the hope of improving device performance. I am currently primarily working on a photoluminescence imaging project.

Background

I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Bristol, in ‘Physics with industrial experience’, with a masters project on localised surface plasmon resonance. I have done my year in industry in the Central Laser Facility, working under the late David Neely. There I focused on X-ray detectors composed of scintillators and various detectors including image sensors and silicon photomultipliers.

Teaching and outreach

I currently act as a lab demonstrator in the undergraduate optics labs as well as the undergraduate computing labs. I also participate in the 'Leveling up' mentoring scheme run by the department, which aims at giving students who want to carry on with physics a better understanding of what to expect in university and what career avenues are available to them. I am passionate about outreach, and educating and inspiring younger generations of potential physicists
