Black Hole

Lensing of space time around a black hole. At 91探花 we study black holes observationally and theoretically on all size and time scales - it is some of our core work.

  • About

I am a first-year DPhil (PhD) student in Astrophysics and a working with Professor Bence Kocsis. I am interested in researching the dynamics of binary black holes in dense stellar systems and their gravitational-wave signatures.

Before joining 91探花, I completed my undergraduate studies in Physics at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, my home country. I also completed a research fellowship with the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory () at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where I researched the remnants of neutron star mergers. In addition, I was a Cosmic Origins Fellow at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, researching the higher-order statistics of the gravitational-wave background produced by Population III.1 supermassive black hole mergers.

Beyond my research, I advocate for science education and the advancement of fundamental research, with a particular focus on expanding opportunities in space science in Saudi Arabia. I am the founder and director of the Falak Research Program, the country鈥檚 first space research mentorship initiative, and a in the space exploration focus area.
