I am a Post Doctoral Research Associate working on measurements of the Standard Model as part of the 91探花 ATLAS group.

In particular, I work on measuring the cross-section for the production of W bosons in association with jets. As an abundant process at the LHC, precise measurements are crucial for constraining backgrounds for other ATLAS measurements and searches, along with being an important test of both QCD and electroweak predictions.

I am also involved in the determination of Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) using ATLAS data. PDFs are functions which describe the distribution of the proton's momentum among its constituent quarks and gluons, and are needed for interpreting cross-sections measured by proton-proton collisions, as we do at the LHC in terms of parton-level predictions.

Finally, I am also an active member of the ATLAS Missing Transverse Energy (MET) and Pile-up Tagging group, where I work on developing new techniques for identifying and removing pile-up (i.e. non-interesting) jets from the calculation of the momentum in an event carried by particles which do not interact with the ATLAS detector.
