Abstract:

The correspondence between a two-level optical system and a two-level quantum system even in the diabatic limit was experimentally validated. The Landau-Zener transitions from the adiabatic limit to the diabatic limit was observed in a classical optical two-level system. The experimental data were in good agreement with the theoretical predictions. The transitions for a variant of the Landau-Zener model were also observed. The transition probabilities for both models are plotted as functions of the adiabaticity parameter 螕.
