I am a member of the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, where I contributed to using its decay to a pair of W bosons. I have since performed several measurements of this channel to test the predictions of the Standard Model. I convened an to develop a framework for interpreting Higgs boson measurements, and participated in a that implemented the framework.

I am currently studying the pair-production of tau-leptons, focusing in particular on production at high invariant mass and in association with one or more b-quarks. Measurements of these processes are sensitive to new interactions that primarily affect the third generation of fermions. The only SM particle with interactions that distinguish between generations is the Higgs boson, and measurements of third-generation fermions could uncover other distinguishing interactions.

I am also a member of the CDF experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron, where I performed .  The final CDF measurement deviates significantly from the Standard Model prediction, as described in (among others)  and  The measurement also shows some tension with other measurements, as discussed in this article.

Finally, I tutor second-year quantum mechanics at Corpus Christi and St Catherine's colleges, and third-year nuclear and particle physics at St Catz.
