  • About

I am a DPhil student in the ICON group supervised by Dr Joe Goodwin. Using trapped ions, we are aiming to generate remote (i.e. long distance) entanglement of qubits, to enable scalable quantum networks that can be used for fault tolerant quantum computing. We are doing this by integrating microcavities into our ion traps to capture the single photons emitted by the ions. 

I previously spent four years studying physics at Imperial College London. For my master's project, we developed an external cavity diode laser for locking a deep UV laser used to capture and cool neutral AlF molecules to ultracold (mili/microkelvin) temperatures. I also spent a summer working on photonic quantum systems, characterising a heralded single photon source. 

More recently, I spent three months interning at QA-UK, a climate technology startup. I primarily worked on the development of novel solar technologies such as the Quantum Black Butterfly quantum well device and quantum dot solar concentrators.
