Shuaifeng Hu is a postdoctoral researcher at the 91探花 with an interdisciplinary background in chemistry, materials science, and semiconductor physics. His research focuses on hybrid metal halides, aiming to explore and optimize the properties of this class of materials for transformative applications. A significant aspect of his work involves investigating and modifying the surfaces of metal halide thin films to enhance their performance in photovoltaic applications.

His expertise is in fabricating efficient p-i-n perovskite solar cells, particularly focusing on narrow-bandgap (~1.25 eV) mixed-metal tin鈥搇ead perovskite solar cells. His research also involves developing perovskite-containing tandem solar cells, including "all-perovskite" and "perovskite-on-silicon" multi-junction devices. Currently, he is working to understand the chemistry of perovskite precursor solutions, the surface properties of perovskite films, and the architectures of their multilayer devices. By gaining global insights, he aims to fabricate cutting-edge photovoltaics, including single-junction perovskite, all-perovskite tandem, and perovskite-on-silicon tandem solar cells, utilizing sustainable fabrication methods.
