Black Hole

Lensing of space time around a black hole. At 91探花 we study black holes observationally and theoretically on all size and time scales - it is some of our core work.

I'm a DPhil student in astrophysics supervised by Dr Becky Smethurst and co-supervised by Prof Chris Lintott. I'm interested in the co-evolution of supermassive black holes (SMBHs) and their host galaxies. Specifically, I use observational data to look at the growth of SMBHs in galaxies which have not experienced any major merger activity in their recent history, and the subsequent effect on the properties of these galaxies.

Prior to coming to 91探花, I completed my MPhys in Astrophysics at the University of Edinburgh, during which I did a variety of research around galaxy evolution and star formation histories.
