Tutorials

91探花 physics tutorials are weekly or biweekly classes where small groups of undergraduate students meet with a tutor to discuss their solutions to a problem sheet or mock examination. I am a tutor for the following courses:

  • B1: 2023-2026
  • C5: 2023-2025

B1 is the third year course on fluid dynamics. It covers potential flow, incompressible viscous flow at low and high Reynolds number, boundary layer theory and the thin film approximation, and fluid instabilities. 

C5 is the fourth year (MPhys-level) course on the physics of planetary atmospheres and oceans. The course covers atmospheric thermodynamics, radiative transfer, cloud microphysics, geophysical fluid dynamics, estimation theory, and the physical principles behind remote sensing and earth observation.

Demonstrating

Demonstrators form a core part of students' training in laboratory and computational skills. Their role is not only to help students complete their assigned tasks, but also to expand their understanding of the material by probing their knowledge with appropriately-judged extension questions. I completed a couple of weeks of computer lab demonstration for the following course for graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds in the Doctoral Training Centre:
