Abstract:

We report on the observation of B虅鈫扗*蟺+蟺-蟺-蟺 0 decays. The branching ratios for D*+ and D*0 are (1.72卤0.14卤0.24)% and (1.80卤0.24卤0.27)%, respectively. Each final state has a a D*蠅蟺- component, with branching ratios (0.29卤0.03卤0.04)% and (0.45卤0.10卤0.07)% for the D*+ and D*0 modes, respectively. We also observe B虅鈫扗蠅蟺- decays. The branching ratios for D+ and D0 are (0.28卤0.05卤0.04)% and (0.41卤0.07卤0.06)%, respectively. A spin parity analysis of the 蠅蟺- system in the D蠅蟺- final state shows a preference for a wide 1- resonance. A fit to the 蠅蟺- mass spectrum finds a central mass of (1349 卤25-5+10) MeV and width of (547卤86-45+46) MeV. We identify this object as the 蟻(1450) or the 蟻鈥. 漏2001 The American Physical Society.

Abstract:

We search for CP nonconservation in the decays of 蟿 leptons produced via e+e- annihilation at 鈭歴 鈭 10.6 GeV. The method uses correlated decays of pairs of 蟿 leptons, each decaying to the 蟺蟺0谓蟿 final state. The search is done within the framework of a model with a scalar boson exchange. In an analysis of a data sample corresponding to 12.2脳106 produced 蟿 pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we find no evidence of violation of CP symmetry. We obtain a limit on the imaginary part of the coupling constant parametrizing the relative contribution of diagrams that would lead to CP violation to be -0.0460谓蟿 decays. The limit on the imaginary part of the 蟿 scalar coupling is -0.033

Abstract:

The flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) decay was studied using Monte Carlo simulations to determine the efficiency for detecting the signal modes. The upper limits on branching fractions were obtained and no indication of a signal were obtained for the decay. Systematic and statistical errors for the process were calculated numerically.

Abstract:

We report on a search for the radiative decay Upsilon(1S)-->gammaeta(') in 61.3 pb(-1) of data taken with the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. Three decay chains were investigated, all involving eta(')-->pi(+)pi(-)eta, followed by eta-->gammagamma, eta-->pi(0)pi(0)pi(0), or eta-->pi(+)pi(-)pi(0). We find no candidate events in any of the three cases and set a combined upper limit of 1.6x10(-5) at 90% C.L., significantly smaller than the previous limit. We compare our result to other radiative Upsilon decays, to radiative J/psi decays, and to theoretical predictions.

Abstract:

A study was carried out to search for the decay 违 鈫 纬畏' with the decay mode 畏' 鈫 畏蟺+蟺- and three decay modes of the 畏. Using simple, loose selection criteria, no candidates were found and the 90%C C.L. limit of B(违 鈫 纬畏') 1.6 脳 10-5 was set.
