For about 30 years, I worked on experimental particle physics, developing and building particle detectors and working on experiments such as TASSO and ZEUS at DESY in Hamburg. Since 2010, my main area of research is laser-plasma accelerators and in particular, multiple-pulse laser wakefield accelerators.
