Abstract:

A method of growing single crystals of PbZr//xTi//1// minus //xO//3 from a pure PbO flux is described. The method is based on a knowledge of the PbO-TiO//2 and PbO-ZrO//2 phase diagrams and can be used to grow small crystals of predictable composition. Dielectric, optical and X-ray measurements are used to characterize the crystals.
