Abstract:

The time-dependent decay rate for the process B鈫扟/蠄K *(892) in 纬(4S)鈫払B虅 decays detected by BABAR detector, was investigated. The flavor-tagged events, where one neutral B meson was reconstructed in the J/蠄K*0 or J/蠄K虅 *0 final state, were observed. The coefficients of cosine and sine terms in time-dependent asymmetries were also measured. The results show that for a single ratio of wrong-flavor to favored amplitudes for B0 and 虅0 combined, an upper limit of 0.25 at 90% confidence level (C.L.) was obtained.

Abstract:

The measurement of branching fraction for flavor-changing neutral-current process B鈫扻Sl+l-, was described. The final state was reconstructed from e+e- or 渭+渭- pairs and hadronic system XS, which consists of one K鈭 or KS0 and two pions. The systematic uncertainties in signal yield were also evaluated by varying signal gaussian parameters and signal shape. The results show that ratio between generator yield for decay modes which contain KS0 and modes containing a charged kaon was varied within range 0.50鈭0.05, allows isospin violation.

Abstract:

We present measurements of the branching fractions and charge asymmetries (where appropriate) of two-body B decays to 畏(鈥) K*, 畏(鈥) 蟻, 畏(鈥) 蟺0, 蠅蟺0, and 蠁蟺0. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at PEP-II and correspond to 89脳106 BB pairs produced in e +e- annihilation through the 违 (4S) resonance. We find significant signals for two decay modes and measure the branching fractions B(B+鈫捨稫*+)=(25.6 卤4.0卤2.4) 脳10-6 and B(B0鈫捨稫*0) = (18.6卤23卤1.2)脳10-6, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. We also find evidence with significance 3,5蟽 for a third decay mode and measure B(B+ 鈫捨废+)=(9.2卤3.4卤1.0)脳10 -6. For other channels, we set 90% C.L. upper limits of B(B 0鈫捨废0)<1.5 脳10-6, B(B+鈫捨封睰*+)<14脳10 -6, B(B0鈫捨封睰*0)<7. 6脳10-6, B(B0鈫捨封睰*0) <22脳10-6, B(B0 鈫捨封蚕 0)<4.3脳10-6, B(B0鈫捨废 0)<2.5脳10-6, B(B0鈫捨封 蟺0)<3.7脳10-6, B(B0鈫捪壪 0)<1.2脳10-6, and B(B0鈫捪喯 0)<1.0脳10-6. For self-flavor-tagging modes with significant signals, the time-integrated charge asymmetries are A ch(畏K*+)=+0.13卤0.14卤0.02 and Ach(畏K*0)=+0.02卤0.11卤0.02.

Abstract:

A measurement of the time-dependent CP asymmetry for the neutral B-meson decay B0 鈫 蠁K0 was discussed. The study was carried by using a sample of B-meson pairs taken at the 纬(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B-meson factory at SLAC. The CP eigenstates were reconstructed 蠁K0s and 蠁K 0L, where 蠁 K+K-,K 0s 鈫 蟺+ 蟺-, and K 0L was observed. The results show that the values of the CP-violations parameters were S蠁K = 0.47 卤 0.37(stat) +0.08-0.06.

Abstract:

The branching fraction for the semi-inclusive process B鈫捨甔s, where Xs is a strange hadronic system, was measured. The Xs mass spectrum was also obtained, which fits into models predicting high masses. Two tracking devices, a silicon vertex tracker consisting of five layers of double-sided silicon microstrip detectors and a 40-layer central drift chamber, were used for the detection of charged particles. It was found that the charged-particle identification was provided by the average energy loss in the tracking devices.
