Abstract:

We report on the inclusive branching fractions of B- and of B虅0 mesons decaying to D0X, D虅0X, D+X, D-X, Ds+X, Ds-X, 螞c+X, 螞c-X, based on a sample of 88.9 脳 106 BB虅 events recorded with the BABAR detector at the 违 (4S) resonance. Events are selected by completely reconstructing one B and searching for a reconstructed charmed particle in the rest of the event. We measure the number of charmed and of anticharmed particles per B decay and derive the total charm yield per B - decay nc- = 1.313 卤 0.037 卤 0.062-0.042+0.063 and per B虅0 decay n c0 = 1.276 卤 0.062 卤 0.058 -0.046+0.066, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third reflects the charm branching-fraction uncertainties.

Abstract:

We present a measurement of the branching fraction of the decay B 卤鈫捪c0K卤 sample of 89脳106 BB虅 pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory. The 蠂c0 meson is reconstructed through its two-body decays to蟺+ 蟺- and K+K-. We measure B(B卤 鈫 蠂c0K卤) 脳螔(蠂 c0鈫捪赌+蟺-) = [1.32-027 +0.28(stat)卤0.26(syst)] 脳 10-6 and B(B 卤鈫 蠂c0K卤) 脳 B(蠂c0 鈫扠+K-) = [1.49 -0.34+0.36(stat) 卤0.22(syst)] 脳 10 -6. Using the known values for the 蠂c0 decays branching fractions, we combine these results to obtain 螔(B 卤 鈫捪c0K卤) = (2.7卤0.7)脳 10-4. 漏 2004 The American Physical Society.

Abstract:

Branching fraction measurements using B-meson decays to Ks 0蟺+蟺- are presented. These measurements were obtained by analyzing a data sample of 88.9 脳 106 违(45) 鈫 BB虅 decays collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory. Using a maximum likelihood fit, the following branching fraction results were obtained: B(B0蟺 +蟺-) = (43.7 卤 3.8 卤 3.4) 脳 10 -6, B(B0 鈫 K*+蟺-) (12.9 卤 2.4 卤 1.4) 脳 10-6, and B(B0 鈫 D-(鈫扠s 0蟺+蟺 -)蟺+) = (42.7 卤 2.1 卤 2.2) 脳 10-6. The CP violating charge asymmetry A碍*蟺 for the decay B0 鈫 K*+蟺- was measured to be A碍*蟺 = 0.23 卤 0.18-0.06 +0.09. For all these measurements the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.

Abstract:

We present results of searches for 5-meson decays to K+蟺 -蟺+ with the BABAR detector. With a data sample of 61.6 脳 106 BB虅 pairs, we measure the branching fractions and 90% confidence-level upper limits averaged over charge-conjugate states (the first error is statistical and the second is systematic): B[B+ 鈫 K*0(892)蟺+] = (15.5 卤 1.8 -4.0+1.5) 脳 10-6, B[B+ 鈫 f0(980)K+, f0 鈫 蟺+蟺 -] = (9.2 卤 1.2-2.6+2.1) 脳 10 -6, B[B+ 鈫 D虅0蟺+, D虅0 鈫 K+蟺-] = (184.6 卤 3.2 卤 9.7) 脳 10-6, B[B+ 鈫 蟻0(770)K+] < 6.2 脳 10-6 and B[B+ 鈫 K+蟺-蟺+ nonresonant] < 17 脳 10-6.

Abstract:

We present a search for B decays to charmless final states involving charged or neutral a0 mesons. The data sample corresponds to 89 脳 106 BB虅 pairs collected with the BABAR detector operating at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. We find no significant signals and determine the following 90% C.L. upper limits: B(B0 鈫 a0 -蟺+) < 5.1 脳 10-6, B(B0 鈫 a0-K+) < 2.1 脳 10-6, B(B- 鈫 a0-碍虅0) < 3.9 脳 10-6, B(B+ 鈫 a0 0蟺+) < 5.8 脳 10-6, B(B+ 鈫 a00K+) < 2.5 脳 10-6, and B(B0 鈫 a00K0) < 7.8 脳 10-6, where in all cases B indicates the product of branching fractions for B 鈫 a0X and a0 畏蟺, where X indicates K or 蟺.
