Abstract:

A study of charm fragmentation into Ds*+ and Ds+ in e+e- annihilations at 鈭歴=10.5 GeV is presented. This study using 4.72卤0.05 fb-1 of CLEO II data reports measurements of the cross sections 蟽(Ds*+) and 蟽(Ds+) in momentum regions above x=0.44, where x is the Ds momentum divided by the maximum kinematically allowed Ds momentum. The Ds vector to vector plus pseudoscalar production ratio is measured to be PV(x(Ds+)>0.44)=0.44卤0.04. 漏2000 The American Physical Society.

Abstract:

Using a sample of 4.7 fb-1 integrated luminosity accumulated with the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring (CESR), we investigate the mass spectrum and resonant structure in 蟿- 鈫捨-蟺+蟺-谓蟿 decays. We measure the relative fractions of 螝1(1270) and 螝1(1400) resonances in these decays, as well as the 螝1 masses and widths. Our fitted 螝1 resonances are somewhat broader than previous hadroproduction measurements, and in agreement with recent CERN LEP results from tau decay. The larger central value of our measured width 91探花s models which attribute the small 蟿-鈫捨-蟺+蟺 -谓蟿 branching fraction to larger 螝1 widths than are presently tabulated. We also determine the 螝a-螝b mixing angle 胃螝. 漏2000 The American Physical Society.

Abstract:

We present a study of three B0 decay modes useful for time-dependent CP asymmetry measurements. From a sample of 9.7脳106 BB虅 meson pairs collected with the CLEO detector, we have reconstructed B0 鈫扟/蠄碍S0, B0鈫捪clKS0, and B0鈫扟/蠄蟺0 decays. The latter two decay modes have been observed for the first time. We describe a KS0鈫捪赌0蟺0 detection technique and its application to the reconstruction of the decay B0 鈫扟/蠄碍S0. Combining the results obtained using KS0鈫捪赌+蟺- and KS0鈫捪赌0蟺0 decays, we determine B(B0 鈫扟/蠄碍0)=(9.5卤0.8卤0.6)脳10-4, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one is systematic. We also obtain B(B0鈫捪clK0)=(3.9-1.3 +1.9卤0.4)脳10-4 and B(B0鈫扟/蠄蟺0)=(2.5-0.9 +1.1卤0.2)脳10-5. 漏2000 The American Physical Society.
